This is a blog post dedicated to sleepless nights, 14-hour days, and projects that never seem to end. A blurb for those with endless to do lists, packed schedules, and seemingly insurmountable goals. This is a message for those losing hope.
Do not stop fighting. Do not stop trying. Do not give up.
I know that curling up in a ball and rocking yourself whilst simultaneously consuming a gallon of dark chocolate ice cream and two pounds of nachos may sound pretty appealing, but it may not end up being the best choice in the long run. Breakdowns are rarely the healthy choice.
Instead of surrendering to despair, fight back. Use productive activity to keep moving forward, one baby step at a time. This applies to your change effort as well. When you feel like you’ve reached an impossible point in achieving your goals, don’t give in to the temptation to simply stop trying. Keep progressing. Even when it seems unimaginable.
If you’re feeling like you could use a little kick start to get moving again, try one of these tips prescribed by WebMD:
*Laugh out loud
*Play with your pet
*Clean
*Mow the lawn (seriously, the smell of fresh cut grass can act as a calming agent)
*Drink some orange juice and load up on Vitamin C
*Sing a song
*Go for a walk
*Chew some gum
*Take a deep breath
Oh, and if that doesn’t work, try visiting Change Anything to get you back on your way. . .
